Gemstone Lore and Healing Properties*

Vibrational energy is present in all stones for they contain many components similar to our own bodies, such as light, water and minerals, but in greater density.
People have been aware of the mystical properties of gemstones since antiquity. The more love and care you give the stones, the more energy and growth they return to you. And we could all use more love…remember, love is what is most important in this life and our connection to one another!

AGATE : Color: various
Helps one discern truth and accept circumstances. Powerful emotional healer.
Agate is an extremely grounding and powerful physical healer.
Lace : Color: Light blue, deep pink
Makes self-expression easier, Calming & soothing stone.
Moss : Color: Green
Aids in finding one's life purpose. Good for the lungs.

AMAZONITE : Color: soft sea green
Know as a “hope” stone. The strong potassium content of the stone is thought to strengthen stamina. Enhances creative expression.

AMBER : Color: golden yellow, orange, brown
(Fossilized Pine Tree resin) Encourages positive energy. Adds vitality and strengthen. Conversely, it is also a very calming stone and can be used for protection.

AMETHYST: Color: purple
Helps one communicate on a deep soul level. Can be used for those with troubled mental states.  One of the best stones to use to help relieve headaches. Also helpful for people suffering recurrent nightmares.

AMETRINE :  Color: violet and yellow
An interesting stone that is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine, Believed to strengthen nerves and encourage healing after serious illness. Stimulates brain activity and enhances the wearer's emotional life and creativity.  Promotes maturity and encourages a more confident attitude.  Said to have a soothing effect on the soul and create inner harmony. 

APATITE : Color: peacock blue, bright aqua
Believed to balance the emotional, intellectual, physical, and etheric bodies. Provides access to past life insight and telepathy. Believed to enhance creativity and knowledge. It is said that wearing or carrying apatite suppresses hunger.

AQUAMARINE : Color: light greenish blue
Believed to possess the same calming, soothing, cleansing effect as water! Encourages communication and a brighter outlook on life. Supports one through intense physical, emotional, and karmic release. May ease pain and grief for those stricken with unresolved feelings of loss. Anger and frustration may be easier to handle.

AVENTURINE : Color: green, red
Brings joy, mental clarity, calming. Helps release emotional stress and exudes a positive attitude. Reunites heart with soul.

BLOODSTONE : Color: green with red
Associated with the warrior's courage and self-confidence.  Grounding and protective. Encourages success and prosperity.

CARNELIAN : Color: orange, brown
A powerful stone for focusing, realization and self-actualization. Helps ground the wearer to the present moment. In meditation, it helps to focus the mind on higher intentions and goals.

CHALCEDONY : Color: various
Said to send forth a mothering energy. Banishes fear, hysteria, depression. Promotes calm and peaceful feelings. Encourages stamina, kindness, friendship. Helps prevent accidents. Said to prevent nightmares.

CHRYSOCOLLA : Color: deep green-blue and turquoise
A stone of peace and for balancing the emotions. Helps grant the powers of discretion and wisdom, though it may also help to attract love. Said to help encourage creativity and fresh ways of seeing things.

CHRYSOPRASE : Color: deep grass green to apple green
Believed to help heal heartaches. Brings light-heartedness and joy. Calming and balancing for physical, emotional, mental troubles. Helps one see clearly into personal problems. Brings out inner talents. Also believed to aid rheumatism and promote fertility.

CITRINE : Color: yellow, gold
One of the most positive stones available because it does not hold negative energies. Augments happiness, prosperity, generosity, creativity, protection, strength, confidence, stability, moderation, energy, career success, truth, enjoyment of life and spiritual growth. A stone for the manifestation of success in all walks of life.

CORAL: Color: pink, orange, white, and red
An organic gem: a gift from the sea! Believed to balance the body, relax the emotions and promote a strong, stable personality.

DIAMOND : Color: clear and various colors
Considered the highest evolved gemstone. Amplifies all energy—positive as well as negative. Also thought to protect the wearer from demons and nightmares.

EMERALD : Color: green
Enhances psychic abilities and meditation, as well as intellect and memory. Grants success in business & relationships. Improves eloquence, Acts as an emotional stabilizer. Opens up the heart to love, peace and healing. Helps tired eyes and insomnia.

FLUORITE : Color: purple, aqua, blue, yellow
Teaches us to be inter-dimensional and balanced. Helps bring focus to meditation and rationality to intuition. Clears air of psychic clutter. Fosters truth, intellect, and protection. Shows how to be at one and in a state of peace while still being individually unique. Balances body, bones, and cellular structures.

GARNET : Color: red, green, golden orange, violet, pink
Inspires love, passion and fidelity. Stone of health, transforms negative energy to beneficial. Considered a lucky stone. Also increases positive thoughts, social popularity and self confidence. Increases energy, creativity, productivity and achievements.

GASPEITE : Color: lime green with brown inclusions.
Metaphysically, it is thought to bring spirituality into everyday life. As a healing stone, it is thought to reduce stress and help with heart, gallbladder and lung problems.

GOLD : Purifies and energizes physical body. Improves circulation and nervous system.  Amplifies thoughts and balances hemispheres of the brain. Aids in personal illumination. Solar, male energy aspect.

HEMATITE : Color: Metallic Black
Increases self esteem. Grounding and calming. Enhances personal magnetism, will, courage. Encourages original thinking; focuses energy & emotions. Said to reflect negative energy, it is also a stone to aid one with legal matters.

IOLITE :  Color: deep purplish blue
Called by some "water sapphire," iolite is one of the best stones to use in healing, psychic, and spiritual activities. Gently opens psychic talents and expands them. It is also an excellent stone for meditation and astral travel. Considered a strong "Shaman" stone that can stimulate visions. Also said to help build relationships. In the physical realm, iolite is used to help heal the liver, sore throat, varicose veins, and blisters.

JADE : Color: various, but most commonly green
A stone of blessings, fidelity, peace; wisdom; confidence & good fortune! Helps brings to fruition one's potential and success. Strengthens the immune system and kidneys.

JASPER : Color: various including, red, brown, gold, green, gray
Grounding and protective; excellent for use in astral projection and past life recall. Promotes wisdom, clear vision and courage; relieves suffering; attracts good fortune. Energizes life force; rejuvenates; gives courage. Regulates metabolic processes and promotes physical stamina; Blood cleaner, good for upset digestion, skin, neurological tissue, immune system, aging, allergies.

KUNZITE : Color: pink, lilac, yellow
Encourages secure, strong, balanced, and loving emotions—including self-love; allows one to experience purity of self love and essence; Great stone for all heart matters. Kunzite’s high lithium content makes it beneficial to individuals with addictive behavior.

KYANITE : Color: peacock blue/gray, green
Does not retain negative energies. Excellent for meditation and dream recall. Enhances psychic ability and intuition. Useful in enhancing creativity, broadening perspective, and understanding others.

LABRADORITE : Color: gray with peacock blue iridescence
Said to awaken psychic abilities, creativity and past life knowledge. Helps one reveal destiny for this lifetime. Excellent for meditation and astral travel.

LAPIS LAZULI : Color: indigo with gold flecks
Protective; strengthens the physical body during spiritual awakening. Represents universal truth. Helps attract beings of higher energy. Clears negative thoughts. Cleanses the mind and releases old karmic patterns.

MALACHITE : Color: green
Cleansing stone that clarifies emotions and releases negativity from both present and past lives. Increases willpower and strength. Aids concentration. Highly protective. Heals the immune system and aids birth.

MOLDAVITE : Color: deep green (aka Tektite)
This stone is actually a 15 million-year-old meteorite said to promote positive life changes—but can sometimes promote change in a harsh way—beware! Associated with the fabled stone of the grail, used by medieval knights as a stone of compassion and a talisman of healing.

MOONSTONE : Color: peach, gray, rainbow
Reveals feminine qualities. Encourages sensitivity, emotional balance, intuition and clairvoyance. Relieves anxiety, helps with change; Encourages fertility, as well as aid PMS and the birthing process. Associated with moon magic. Considered a lucky love stone!

OBSIDIAN : Color: black, black with white (aka Snowflake Obsidian), rainbow
Protective, grounding and balancing. Dispels negativity. Teaches wisdom, understanding, strength; raises self esteem as well as promotes responsibility for the world around us.

ONYX : Color: black, black with brown bands (aka Sardonyx)
Helps promote self-confidence when faced with a difficult task or worries. Encourages self-control and a sense of serenity.

OPAL : Color: various, including white, pink and blue ( Peruvian), orange (Mexican or Fire) Helps provide insight into destiny and purpose. A stone of creativity and change, opal can encourage situations and opportunities for success. Think positive while wearing opal, for they are said to increase the magnitude of thoughts and actions!

PEARL (freshwater)/SHELL : Color: Various
Associated with femininity. Relaxes the mind and helps to balance love relationships. Stimulates self-acceptance, concentration and focus. Helps us get in touch with the simple honest things in life.

PERIDOT : Color: bright green
Heals hurt feeling and bruised egos. These wonderful bright green stones emit a warm and friendly energy, for they contain the power of the sun! Brings acceptance to the intellectual matters of love and relationships. Peridot is an overall balancer and tonic for the body and mind. Opens new doors of opportunity.

PIETERSITE : Color: Red-brown with gold and blue
Works to increase positive self-image, self- esteem, and moral. Helps to support human courage and tenacity. Encourages self-examination and healing of emotions.

PREHNITE :  Color: Soft honeydew melon green
Believed to encourage trustworthiness, truth, calmness, sincerity and sensitivity. Prehnite is a stone for dreaming and remembering.  It also advances the state of meditation, enhancing  one's ability for prophecy and preparedness for the unknown things about to be revealed in your life.

PYRITE : Color: gray-gold
Acts as a balancing energy channel and enhancer. Promotes concentration and creativity. Eases anxiety, depression, frustration and false hope. Aids digestive system. Good for circulation. Money magnet.

QUARTZ: Color: various
Rock Crystal: Color: clear
Amplifies energy and activates all levels of consciousness. Dispels negativity environment, especially excellent for directing thoughts and energy. Magnifies properties of all other stones.
Rose Quartz: Color: pink
Love stone. Eases sexual and emotional imbalances. Increases fertility. Help clear anger, resentment, and guilt. Enhances self-confidence and creativity. Teaches forgiveness, compassion and love.
Rutilated Quartz: Color: clear with gold threads
A stone of positive change. Helps heal and balance while repelling negative energy. Powerful Healer!
Smoky Quartz: Color: brown
Promotes energy and strength. Dissolves blocks to perception and learning. Grounding; protecting; increases survival instinct and intuition.

RHODOCHROSITE : Color: raspberry pink
Powerful love stone that encourages romantic, as well as self love. Cleanses emotions, releases suffering from past lives. Helps you reprogram emotions to receive joy. Heals chronic self-blame.

RUBY : Color: red
Rubies promote determination, self-control, and strength of will, resolve and self-reliance. Helps one see things realistically. Good for people who have trouble making decisions.  Also associated with passion, happiness, communication with spirit guides and general healing. Stone of nobility. Helps ease fever and blood detoxification.

SAPPHIRE : Color: all colors, except red
Sapphire brings clarity that helps enhance one's intuition and wisdom, thus bringing joy and peace to the mind. It is said to bring prosperity and the fulfillment of one's dreams. Said to help win favor in legal matters.

SERPENTINE : Color: green
Inspires respect for the elderly, longevity, retrieval of ancient wisdom and remembrance of past lives.

SILVER : Enhances mental condition. Fosters hope, unconditional love, nurturance, grounding, appreciation of women and nature, spirituality, tenderness and psychic abilities. Excellent conductor of energy. Lunar, female-related aspect.

SODALITE : Color: blue, indigo
Mind stone. Enhances logic and rational thought, self-esteem and trust. Boosts communication--good to have during business presentations. Aids digestion, purification, insomnia and calcium deficiencies.

SUGILITE : Color: deep violet
Great stone for meditation, dream work, and spiritual work—strongly activates the third eye. Helps eliminate hostility, jealousy, and other negative emotions. Also used for inspiration and confidence. Aids insomnia.

SUNSTONE : Color: metallic orange
Stone of leadership, vitality and courage. Clears and energizes the chakras; dissipates fearfulness and stress. Encourages positive outlook and self-control. Helps sore throats and ulcers. Draws success and good luck to its owner!

TANZANITE : Color: periwinkle blue.
Tanzanite is a gemstone which can awaken the mind and heart, placing the mind's genius under the command of the heart's wisdom. It can also be used to enhance psychic abilities.

TIGER'S EYE : Color: golden brown, red brown
Promotes wealth and money. Supports insights and perception, decision-making, clear thinking, and accurate judgment. Use this stone for protection and good luck!

Gold, Pink:
Transforms negative energy to joy. Clears and heals the body while balancing the energy flow. Focuses healing work and protects the aura.
Blue: Promotes artistic expression and creativity. 

TOURMALINE : Color: Various, including green, pink, gold, brown, and blue
Highly Energizing. Believed to enhance vitality, happiness, objectivity, compassion, serenity, balance, positive transformation, healing, and strength.  Excellent for communication with higher forces.
Pink tourmaline : Attunes us to love and opens the heart. Heals heart wounds, fosters trust. Encourages service to the planet; Comforting stone.

TOURMALATED QUARTZ : Color: clear with black rutiles
A stone of positive change and transformation, highly electromagnetic; you can use this stone like Tourmaline, as an energy conductor, to stimulate direction, positive action, or achievement.

TURQUOISE : Color: greenish blue, green, yellow
